Akpi is a round, blond seed that is very common in the cuisine in Côte d'Ivoire but also in Cameroon (ndjansan). Its taste is very pronounced and it is characterized by notes of peanuts. It is crushed or pounded before being incorporated into hot preparations. These almonds are the fruit of Ricinodendron heudelotii, an oil tree found in tropical forests. They allow us to thicken our preparations: soups, fish broths.
