Akpi is a round, blond seed that is very common in the cuisine in Côte d'Ivoire but also in Cameroon (ndjansan). Its taste is very pronounced and it is characterized by notes of peanuts. It is crushed or pounded before being incorporated into hot preparations. These almonds are the fruit of Ricinodendron heudelotii, an oil tree found in tropical forests. They allow us to thicken our preparations: soups, fish broths.

Ricinodendron heudelotii almonds are relatively high in protein, fat, phosphorus and potassium. The kernel of "Akpi" (Ricinodendron heudelotii) is widely used and the high oil content of the seeds is suitable for its use in soap and varnish factories. Akpi is valued for its medicinal properties and used as a remedy for constipation, dysentery, eye infections and infertility in women. It is also an antidote. Sold in packaging of 100 gr.
